LA City Hall Lied to Westside Residents About Martin Cadillac Gridlock
Xochitl Gonzalez is a longtime resident of West L.A. She lives by the rules and loves her quiet community. Then came the zone-breaking Martin Cadillac mega-project at the gridlocked intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Bundy Drive. Gonzalez and her neighbors learned how L.A.’s rigged and unfair planning and land-use system really worked.
“The developers lied about traffic in the environmental impact report,” says Gonzalez in the below video, “and City Hall repeated those lies.”
City Hall politicians also completely ignored the serious concerns of neighborhood groups, and then ramrodded the mega-development through L.A.’s broken development approval system – and gave Martin Cadillac special spot-zoning favors that break existing city rules.
The developer played the system and will rake in millions from the wildly inappropriate mega-project; Gonzalez and her neighbors will now live in a traffic nightmare for decades. It’s why Gonzalez wants to reform City Hall’s shady ways – and supports Measure S.
“Measure S will ban developers from writing their own environmental report,” says Gonzalez. “Save our neighborhoods. Vote Yes on S on March 7."
