Westchester Action Forum on Thursday

Official Event

Please join us for a riveting Westchester Town Hall in what many call the most activist — and most effective — region in L.A. -- the wonderful neighborhoods above and below the Westchester Bluffs, from Del Rey and Playa Del Rey, to Kentwood and Osage, to Mar Vista and Venice.

Key speakers on City Hall's broken planning and development system:  Joyce Foster, former president of the LA City Building and Safety Commission and former President of the West L.A. Area Planning Commission and Dr. Ken Alpern, Chairman of the Transit Coalition, Mar Vista community activist and CityWatch author.

Residents are fighting massive new traffic in Westchester, a 640-unit luxury megadevelopment on a jammed corner in Del Rey, a luxury developer who's keen to create "Czuckerville" by wiping out rare sand dunes at Toes Beach, and a billionaire developer with a backroom plan to build two bridges on Open Space so he can add to L.A.'s growing luxury housing glut — when Bird Island ought to be habitat and a park. Venice is a battle zone so mistreated by City Hall that an entire neighborhood is suing for violation of its legal Community Plan.

Let's talk about how we can fix this together!

Billionaires Leading Spending to Stop Needed Change and Measure S

Several billionaire developers are leading the newly revealed two to one spending against Yes on Measure S, pouring in more than $10 million in campaign contributions, according to city Ethics Commission reports. They are pulling no punches to stop a citywide people's movement that seeks a much-needed fix of LA's broken and rigged planning system.

Special Report: Yes on S Uncovers Pay to Play In LA City Government

Yes on Measure S released today a special report of official city information that reveals how L.A. City Hall works behind closed doors, on behalf of developers and usually without the knowledge of the public, to get around the city's zoning rules. Most developers donate to L.A. elected leaders throughout the backroom process.

Beacon Economics Paid By Billionaires to Kill Measure S

Opponents of Measure S often cite a study by Beacon Economics to prove one thing or another. What they don't tell the public is that Beacon is a paid campaign consultant for the billionaire developers who are funding the campaign to kill reform of L.A.’s rigged planning system.
